Notukela Makohliso, a dynamic South African leader and Futurelect alumna, made her mark as ActionSA's candidate for Minister of Social Development in the 2024 South African General Elections. Since then, Notukela has continued her political journey as ActionSA’s shadow cabinet member. Notukela leads social development for ActionSA, shaping policies that uplift communities and drive positive change. Notukela's leadership journey began after graduating from the Futurelect Southern Africa Public Leadership Programme in 2021, where she further honed her commitment to social development and advocacy for marginalised groups. In 2019, she founded the Notukela Foundation Institute (NFI), delivering impactful community projects and building meaningful collaborations for vulnerable communities. With a background in education, community development, and digital marketing, Notukela’s resilience and dedication make her a force to watch as she builds a brighter future for South Africa.
