YouthCivic-X is a bold new leadership track designed for young changemakers, community builders, and peer influencers ready to activate civic awareness where it matters most, on the ground.

What will I learn?

Gain the essential knowledge, skills, and confidence to lead youth in your community, answer tough questions about democracy and governance, and spark real participation.

Who is it for?

Whether running a school group, organising in your community, or simply passionate about making a difference, YouthCivic-X equips leaders aged 16-34 in South Africa to turn civic understanding into action, and action into impact.

  • Youth leaders (e.g. student council members, SRC reps, youth forum organisers)

  • Community leaders (formal or informal organisers within neighbourhoods or local initiatives)

  • Peer educators and mentors

  • Civil society organisation members or volunteers

  • Religious youth group leaders

  • Leaders in youth-led or youth-focused NGOs and community-based organisations (CBOs)

  • Teachers, tutors, and education assistants involved in youth development

  • Local activists advocating for change on social, environmental, or political issues

  • Content creators or online influencers using their platforms to engage youth

  • Sports coaches and arts facilitators who work with young people

  • Public speakers, debaters, or workshop facilitators in schools or youth spaces

  • Participants in youth mobilisation movements or voter education campaigns
